I have three brothers, so I know brotherly love.
And Philly knows how to treat a brother. More on that later...
They also have this cool statue of Rocky, but it's not at the top of the museum steps like it is in Rocky III, but it is close by. Finally! I was there for business in 2004 and was devastated to arrive at the iconic steps and find no Rocky. My cousin who lives in Philly had no idea what I was talking about. Women!
Speaking of women, the smart ones know that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. And the fine folks at Visit Philly were kind enough to make me about 1000 times more fond of their city by overnighting me a couple of Cheesesteaks from this ingenious website, www.goldbely.com. Goldbely will overnight you a specialty dish from a bunch of different restaurants across the U.S. Think Primanti Bros from Pittsburgh (yikes, Philly probably HATES them) or Key Lime Pie from Florida.
This is pretty much the best gift you could get a man. I am having trouble thinking of a better one. My wife was like "oh I guess a guy would like that." Totally. She got me tickets to the upcoming Seinfeld show. Maybe that's about as good.
Key to the Goldbely order were the instructions that arrived with my cheesesteaks (from Jim's btw). To prevent a really dry sandwich in the oven, you're instructed to keep it wrapped in foil. Excellent advice I will be heeding in the future.
So my 2015 started out totally awesome, as you can tell.
